If you have an autumn birthday, you're one of the lucky ones – you have the option of throwing a pumpkin patch birthday party! Here, you'll find a few ideas that can help you complete the pumpkin patch party planning process.

Decorations

The possibilities are nearly limitless – as long as its pumpkin or autumn related, it'll work. One thing that many of your guests will probably be in awe of is a decoupage photo pumpkin. All you'll need is a faux pumpkin, Mod Podge, copied photos and a paint brush.

Apply a thin layer of the Mod Podge on the back of the photo and press it onto the pumpkin. Continue adding the pictures over the surface of the pumpkin. Once the pumpkin is covered, let it dry for about an hour then brush a coat over the entire pumpkin. Let it dry for a couple of hours and apply another coat. Continue until you have enough layers of Mod Podge to give it a finished look.

Food

There are so many wonderful autumn themed foods for you to choose from. Think about candy apples, candy corn, Reese's pieces – all of those fun foods that take you back to the autumns that you loved as a kid.

If you want to get a little creative for a nice little party favor, get some small pretzels, white chocolate and orange and green food coloring.

Melt the white chocolate and color it orange. Dip the pretzels in and lay them individually on a sheet of wax paper to harden.

Now, get a little more white chocolate melted and add a little bit of green coloring. Add a small stem at the top of the pretzel and you'll have little chocolate covered pretzel pumpkins to set out on the tables or fill party bags with.

Games

Pin the Tail on the Donkey and Ring Toss are both good games for parties of any season, but to really embrace the pumpkin patch theme, consider getting a large sheet of wood and a bunch of small pumpkins. You can make a giant Tic Tac Toe board and use the pumpkins as game pieces.

All you have to do is make the Tic Tac Toe board on the wood, paint "X" on half the pumpkins and "O" on the other half. Set the pieces out and the kids and adults will know exactly what to do to have some fun with a life-size pumpkin Tic Tac Toe board.

Get creative and have fun. You are one of the lucky ones – enjoy your autumn party this, and every year that follows.
